Just because you haven’t got a huge amount of money to spend, doesn’t mean you can’t take a luxury trip.

There are a ton of ways you can bag yourself a bargain and have the time of your life on a shoestring budget.

How? Read on to find out!

Stay Outside of the Main Tourist Area

Whenever you head to a main tourist area, you’ll pay so much more for accommodation and activities. This really isn’t necessary! Of course you can still visit, but I wouldn’t stay in the main tourist area if I were you. Instead, find somewhere else to stay. You’ll save a fortune and you’ll still be able to enjoy a little luxury.

Go Outside of Peak Times

Travelling to any country outside of peak time is a good idea. Depending on where you’re going, peak times will be different. Make sure you research this before going somewhere. Travelling outside of peak time might mean having colder weather, but you’ll save so much money and won’t need to worry about too many tourists! This is a great way to have a peaceful, luxury trip with very little stress.

Book Last Minute

Booking last minute might seem frightening to some, but it’s actually a really good idea if you want to save money. Pack up your stuff and get going! When you look in the right place, you can even find all inclusive packages last minute. You’ll need to be flexible, but spontaneous trips like this are nearly always the best.

Eat Street Food

Street food is just as delicious as restaurant food in most countries, and you’ll pay a fraction of the price. Just make sure you get it from vendors where there are lots of people, as this means fresher food.

Cook for Yourself

If you want to save as much money on food as possible, cook for yourself. Go out and buy some fresh local ingredients and see what you can create. You might have some fun experimenting and come up with a new favourite dish! You should still sample some of the luxury food, but stick to a budget and don’t go OTT.

Find a Tour

Find a tour to take so you can look around your location and enjoy without spending too much money. Many of these tours are free, depending on where you go. Make sure you do some research beforehand to see if you can book tickets with a discount or find a free one.

Research Free Things to Do

There will no doubt be a load of free things you can do when you get to where you’re going. Research is the key! The more you do, the better deals you’ll be able to get. This way, you’ll be able to afford a couple of luxury activities and still fill up your holiday with fun stuff.

I hope these tips help you to get a little luxury in your life. Leave a comment with any tips of your own below!
